Steven "Steve" Brown was born March 19, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York as the youngest son to the late Curtis L. Brown, Sr. and Elizabeth Pierce Brown. He lived 64 amazing years before his passing on August 24, 2022.
Steve's family and education (Canarsie High School, Fern College, Air Force College) prepared him to face the world. And face the world he did, as Steve retired from the Air Force after 20 years and worked at several media outlets based in Orlando. Steve was very proud of his career as they allowed him to travel the world and meet amazing people, many of whom became his close friends.
He had many passions which included various forms of media and technology, DJ-ing, grilling, fishing, and sports. Specifically, the New York Giants and the Brooklyn Nets. If you knew Steve, you knew that if he wasn't wearing one of his New York caps, he was like a fish out of water.
Steve was preceded in death by his father Curtis Sr., mother Elizabeth, his two brothers, James Clark Sr., and Curtis Jr., and sister Lynda Edwards Jones.
He leaves many people to honor his life and memory starting with his loving wife, Shirley Brown and children, Marquita Sanders, Dana Sanders II, and Damika Sanders. Steve is further survived by his Brothers-In-Law: Larry Jones, Stan Mullen, and Early Boykins Jr. His Sisters-In-Law: Darlene Brown, Sheritha Mullen, Aritha Smith, and Wendy Boykins. His Uncle Walter Brown and Aunts Carol and Denise. A myriad of cousins, including Jeff, Richard, and Buddy.
His nieces; Keisha Samuels, Stephanie Edwards, Danielle Fox, Lisa Wilson, Keturah Key, Summer Lloyd, Kelly Brown, Cierra Smith; his nephews: Lorenzo A. Fox, Shaun Samuels, Terry Smith Jr., Jason Smith, James Clark Jr., Tileak Jones, Maurice Mullen, Early Boykins III, and Isaiah Boykins. And many grandnieces and grandnephews including Jordan Mayo and Mia Samuels.
We would be reminisced if we did not acknowledge his loving friends, Cook, Lou, Rob, Ron, Troy, Tanya, Willie, Wilbur, Kim, and many more who will miss him dearly.
