Steven Wesley Ehrie (67) passed away on August 2nd in his home in Punta Gorda, FL after an extended illness.
He was born on November 19, 1954, in Crawfordsville, Indiana to the late Wesley J and Audrey (Swank) Ehrie. Steve lived in Crawfordsville, Indiana until 2002 when he relocated to Punta Gorda, FL.
Steve graduated from Southmont High School in 1972. He owned and operated several businesses in Indiana and Florida including Ehrie Excavating and Panther Cycle. Steve got to spend his life doing what he loved, building custom motorcycles and hot rod cars. He enjoyed traveling with his friends to car shows and Sturgis. His relationship with his friends brought him so much joy in his life.
Steve is survived by his loving spouse, Wanda Ramie, his step-daughters, Sandi (Dude) Ingram of Crawfordsville IN, Brook (Scott) LaFountain of Cleveland TN, and Tracy (John) McRoberts of Crawfordsville IN; Sisters, Marsha (Edward) Williams of Dothan, AL, Rita (Darrell) Rader of Montgomery, AL and Debra (Michael) Morris of Crawfordsville IN; Grandchildren Kalea Brock, Makaya Brock, Jordan Barnes, Bella McRoberts; one great granddaughter – Alyssa Choate and eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Audrey Ehrie, a brother-in-law, Darrell Radar, and a grandson – Kaleb Smith.
Cremation was chosen with A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, August 13 from 1-4 pm at the Eagles – 920 E South Boulevard, Crawfordsville, IN. A service in Punta Gorda, FL is planned for a later date.
