Fritz, Stewart Stewart Fritz, AKA: Stew, Fritz, Frito, Santa Claus, The Candy Man, went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2014 at the age of 84. He was born in North Tonawanda New York in the summer of 1930. In 1951 he graduated from North Tonawanda High, entered the Air Force and married his high school sweetheart Elsie Bauer. After leaving the Air Force he and Elsie moved to Winter Park Florida where he began his employment with Holloway Concrete, other employers included Winko Construction, Winter Park Telephone Company, lending a helping hand at various gas stations including Valone's Gulf of Winter Park and retiring from Florida Power in 1992. He was a deacon at Bethany Christian Church, Winter Park Christian Church, and Aloma Baptist Church. Not only was he a wonderful husband, devoted and dedicated father, he had dedicated his life to helping others. He was always ready to lend assistance to anyone who would ask. He delivered food to Homeless shelters around town. As "The Candy Man" he delighted children and parents at school events and parties with Cotton Candy and Snow cones for many years, bringing smiles to countless faces.
Stew was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon Lee, and survived by his beautiful bride Elsie, of 65 years, daughters (Juanita) Jan and Tommy Smith, Melissa and Hector Rivera, Michelle and Troy Hendrick and Lenelle Lang, his brother Marvin Fritz, as well as 15 Grandchildren and 16 Great-grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be truly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Cornerstone Hospice, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Aloma Baptist Church Building Fund.
