Elaine (Boots) Rathel of Sanford, Florida passed away at 7:23 AM July 15, 2015 at the Altamonte Hospice center. She was surrounded by family and friends when she took her last breath. She is survived by her husband Michael Rathel, her three children Kelly Mastin, Kevin Rathel and Karen McCreless, her 10 grandchildren Kaila Fleshman, Megan Fleshman, Nick Mastin, Jessica Remeikas, Joy Mastin, Jacob Mastin, Zack Mastin, Cole Rathel, Lauren Rathel, Gracyn Rathel. Great grandsons Jaxon Mastin and Clay Mastin, step great granddaughter Raylee Mastin. Elaine is also survived by her two sisters Wanda Welter and Alicia Schou.
Elaine was born in Tifton, GA August 17, 1946. She graduated from Maynard Evans High School in 1964 and completed one year of nursing college in Daytona Beach, Fl.
She graduated from Sara and Woodys Beauty School in Orlando, Florida. She spent 30 years as a professional hair dresser. Owned and operated the Cutting Company hair salon on Orange Avenue in Winter Park, Florida. She was the first hair salon in Florida to have a computer imaging system for client hair cuts and coloring and written up in the style section of the Sentinel Star front page.
Elaine was a member of the First Baptist Church at 33rd Street in Orlando, Florida. She was a strong Christian and shared her faith to her husband ( who became a Christian),and also shared her faith to her children (who became Christians). She loved the Lord.
Elaine never met a stranger, loved people and was the most giving person I have ever known. She will be greatly missed. I LOVED HER DEARLY.
