In Loving Memory of Susana "Susan" Carrasquillo Bishop
April 29, 1938 – February 22, 2022
Susana "Susan" Carrasquillo Bishop, age 83, of Orlando, Florida, went to Heaven on February 22, 2022. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy.
Susan is remembered as a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico to Asunción Jimenez and Jesus Carrasquillo and raised in Luquillo, Puerto Rico. She was 1 of 7 siblings, her being the 3rd to pass thus leaving 4 beautiful sisters with us- Bienvenida, Amparo, Manuela and Carmen. Her nephews, Jose, and Cristobal, she always considers them as a sibling being raised together.
Susan is now reunited with her son, Nelson Castro. Left to honor Susan and remember her love are her daughter, Wanda Figueroa (Luis Figueroa, son-in-law), her three grandchildren, Regina Hall (Christopher Hall, grandson-in-law), Almando Rodriguez Jr. and Alisa Figueroa. Four great grandchildren, Aleah Martinez, Alexander Martinez, Reagan Rodriguez and Grayson Rodriguez.
Susan moved to Bronx, NY at the tender age of 17 before finishing high school and moved to Orlando, FL in the early 1970's.
My mother decided to finish her education, receiving her high school diploma at the age of 42. She accomplished this despite English being her second language. Susan loved everything medical and always had a thirst for knowledge. She thrived by being of service to others and held several different careers throughout her life. She worked as a nurse's aide, school crossing guard, airport security and quality control specialist in pharmaceuticals.
Susan adored her family and was a caregiver by nature. She would selflessly help her loved ones but never ask for anything in return. She was the youngest of her siblings and never tired of taking care of others.
Susan was a proud single mom whose priority was taking care of her family. She adored each family member and was happiest when her family surrounded her. Susan always strived to do and look her best. She was very proud of the fact that she was very independent and strong, but also had a loving and forgiving heart for everyone.
She especially took great pride in her iconic pink house. She would spend many hours lovingly tending her flowers and garden. She also spent time getting to know her neighbors and would always be around to lend a sympathetic ear.
Susan was an absolute animal lover but especially loved her fur babies, Jazz, TJ and, most recently, Baby Bishop who went to Heaven only days before her.
Susan loved the Lord, her family, and community and always prayed for His blessings and protection for herself and everyone she loved.
Susan was a person of faith and lived life serving others. She is at peace and has been reunited with her Savior Jesus, her beloved son Nelson, Baby Bishop and family who have been patiently waiting for her arrival.
