Susanne Jean Kufta passed away on May 21, 2023 at home after suffering a stroke.
She was born in New Jersey, July 21, 1940. After receiving her B.S. in Nursing, she moved to Boston and worked at Mass General Hospital. She pursued higher education and after completing her Master's Degree from Boston University, she relocated to Maine.
Sue was a nurse and then a nurse practitioner for over 40 years caring for families in the Boston and Portland areas. Sue loved her poodles and enjoyed walking them on the beach near her home in Maine.
After retiring, she moved to Florida to be with her sister. She enjoyed the Florida sun by sitting out on the porch to read a good book. She made yearly trips back to Maine to visit her friends and savor a good lobster dinner from Harraseeket's.
She is survived by her brother Robert and sister Christine and her niece Julia Fortman, and nephew John Kufta and two great nephews and one great niece.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the ASPCA.
