Tara Marie Sheehan

Tara Marie was taken from us suddenly this weekend after a tragic car accident. Tara leaves behind her cherished children, Justin Sheehan and Reagan Rose. She also leaves behind her parents; her father, Robert (Laura Smith) Sheehan and her mother, Kelly-ann Gash and step-father, Robert Gash. She leaves behind her siblings, Courtney Anne (Cody) Hartmann and Robert William (Rebecca) Sheehan; and her beautiful niece, Leonora Hartmann. She is also survived by her grandmothers, Eleanor Sheehan and Harriet Gifford; step-grandmother, Rosalee Crianza; uncles, Richard Gifford, Robert Gifford, Kevin (Linda) Sheehan and Donald (Brenda) Sheehan; aunt, Wendy (Brad) Lange; and cousins, Gabrielle, Lilly Rose, Michelle, Jason, Casey and Stefanie. Tara is preceded in death by her grandfathers William Sheehan and Alfred Gifford, and her aunt, Claudine Gifford. Tara is also preceded in death by James Rose.

Tara was an accomplished dancer and performer. At Dr. Phillips High School she excelled in the dance magnet program. She loved her job as a leasing agent but she was especially proud of the years she played Wendy at Walt Disney World. Everyone said she made the perfect Wendy. She loved greeting all the guests with Peter Pan and giving them a great Disney experience. She was talented and creative. She loved people and was always the life of the party. She adored animals especially her beloved and faithful dog, Dabbz, who lost her life in the accident along with Tara. Her mark on the world is for us to know that no matter how short life is that we always live as if it were our last day and to love life.

Her sister, Courtney, wrote "earlier this week we bore witness to her giving the ultimate gift, the gift of life, to others. I imagine as we were crying our tears of pain, the tears of joy the organ recipients and their families were crying". We know in our hearts that Tara lives on in this last act of selflessness.

Tara would want us to "Dance like no one is watching, love like you've never been hurt, sing like no one is listening and live like it is heaven on earth". Fly high our baby, fly high.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – Winter Park Chapel with a gathering from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider making a donation to the METTA Rescue Family who took Dabbz in for emergency surgery and cared for her so we could care for Tara. We will forever be grateful for their kindness and compassion. They are truly angels on earth.
