Teresa “Teri” Rae Tindel, 65, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 7:00 PM, in her home at Fern Park, Florida after a 3 year, 2-and-a-half-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on October 22, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio to Arno and Esther Mason. Teri moved down to Fern Park, Florida with her family in March of 1971. She graduated from Lyman High School in 1976 and went to Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree with a major in Music Composition in 1980 and was awarded the President’s List. During her senior year of college, she met Carl Tindel. They were married on December 30, 1980. After they were married, they left college and moved to Spokane, Washington where they worked in a Christian school. While in Spokane, Teri gave birth to their first son, Nathan. They moved back to Fern Park, Florida in the summer of 1984 and have lived there ever since. The family continued to grow when Teri gave birth to their second son Joshua and then their only daughter Heather. Teri was a devoted mother to her children, homeschooling all three children from kindergarten to 12th grade. After her children were grown, she worked as a preschool teacher at The Neighborhood Preschool until her husband retired in 2017. She continued to work as a substitute teacher at the preschool until February of 2021, when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Teri was raised in a Christian home, and she accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 5. Throughout her adult life, she volunteered in children’s ministry in multiple churches. Teri also at times sang in the church choirs and worship teams, but teaching children was her gift and passion.
She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend. She poured herself into those around her and the activities she was involved with.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arno Mason.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years Carl (69), son Nathan (40) and his wife Jessica (34), son Joshua (39), daughter Heather (35), her mother Esther Mason, her sisters Arnetta Harman and Pam Everett, and many extended family whom she loved dearly.
