Terry was the oldest of three boys, growing up in Warren, Indiana. He loved, and took pride in, his little town. As a young boy he delivered newspapers on his bicycle to the community. He also loved to run. In high school he held the state record for several years for the fastest mile.
Terry attended Indiana University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in education. Terry was a member of Sigma-Phi Epsilon fraternity at IU.
He relocated to Orlando, FL, where he taught physical education, sociology/psychology, and first aid. He held many positions during his time as an educator at Central Florida Academy including athletic director, head basketball coach, and vice principal.
His true love was basketball and, as head coach, led his team to many victories as well as a state title. He made a great impact on many young lives as a mentor, coach, and friend during his time at CFA.
He met his wife in 1983 and they were married in 1991. They have one son together. Terry loved Jesus, his family, sports of all kinds, and dogs. He enjoyed sending time with his family and friends, cheering for the Hoosiers, watching westerns, playing golf, and playing poker.
He owned a lawn care business that kept him busy after his semi-retirement. He continued his "teaching" opportunities by hiring local high-school kids to help with the business, the first being his son and a couple of his friends when they were 14 years old. His love for dogs was shown by always having dog bones on hand for his customers' dogs. They always looked forward to their treats.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Tyler; brother's Mike (Martha), and Pat (Pam), and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
