Theresa Marie Tedrow, age 91, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 5, 1930 to parents Costa and Mathea (Van Pelt) Parsons.
Theresa always held a creative spark in her eyes and a devoted love for her family in her heart. She carried a quick sense of humor alongside her no-nonsense capacity to take care of others. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother. A provider. Endlessly generous. As a single mother, she worked tirelessly to foster bright futures for her five children, and, even in her later days, she talked of her long "to-do-y" list of tasks, which was mostly a series of quilting projects eagerly awaited by her family. She was a brilliant seamstress and quilter (not to mention a competitive scrabble and wordcross extraordinaire). Many of her descendants have at one point donned lovingly crafted Halloween costumes, slept with custom Grandma Beach quilts in their beds, or may remember sharing time on the sofa with a word cross in hand and a string cheese or pudding snack nearby.
Theresa was also an avid traveler and a lover of nature. She visited all but two of the national parks, one if you count technically having walked up to the Greensboro Courthouse National Military Park – it turns out to be closed after Christmas, so, admittedly, there is no stamp in her collection to prove the visit. She also enjoyed visiting Disney parks with her grandchildren, including trips to Epcot to share one of her favorite treats: Neapolitan Cake. She will also be remembered for her sweet tooth, particularly her love of caffeine free diet coke and fun size milky ways.
Theresa (also known as Grandma Beach) loved deeply and is loved and remembered deeply in return. Perhaps the most tangible way to tend to her legacy of giving will be the family heirlooms she so carefully crafted and which will be passed on to her great great grandchildren and so on.
She is survived by her four daughters, Elizabeth Godwin, Catherine Schwoerer (Douglas May), Theresa (William) Seiler, Melinda Green; one son, Edward (Diana) Schwoerer; brother, Paul Parsons; sister, Frances Sage; Nine Grandchildren, and Eleven Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Tedrow, mother, Mathea Elise Parsons, father, Costa Parsons, brother, Al Parsons.
Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Cemetery: 2420 Harrell Rd, Orlando, FL 32817.
