Therese Flora Desir, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away on January 26, 2025, at AdventHealth Hospital in Kissimmee, Florida. She was born on September 19, 1932, in Port au Prince, Haiti, and filled the lives of those around her with warmth, kindness, and love.
As a full-time homemaker, Therese devoted her life to her family, creating a nurturing environment where love thrived. She was known for her unwavering hospitality, always welcoming others into her home with open arms and a generous spirit. Her family remembers her as the best mom and grandmother anyone could ever ask for, a one-of-a-kind woman whose love knew no boundaries.
Therese's personality was a shining example of kindness and wisdom. She approached life with a gentle demeanor and a remarkable patience that inspired all who were fortunate enough to know her. In moments of challenge or frustration, she would simply reassure those around her by saying, "It's OK - pray." Her understanding and forgiving nature was above and beyond and created a sense of safety for her loved ones, making them feel valued and understood. Therese was resilient and a fighter, her strength is a testament to her 92 years.
A devout Christian, Therese dedicated over 25 years to being a cherished member of the First Haitian Baptist Church of Kissimmee. Her faith was a guiding light in her life. Despite her illness and pain, as a reflection of her strong faith, she often said, "avec Jesus tout va bien - All is Well with God."
Therese Flora Desir's legacy of love, kindness, and gentle strength will continue to resonate through the lives she touched. Friends and family alike will gather to honor her memory and celebrate the incredible woman she was.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 9:30 am at the First Haitian Baptist Church of Kissimmee, 900 S Thacker Ave, Kissimmee, FL 34741 with Pastor Fritzner JB Brouard officiating.
A viewing will take place on February 8 preceding the service at the church from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, FL.
