Thinh Dinh Uong, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on May 12, 2023 in Orlando, Florida.
Thinh was born on February 10, 1941 in Vietnam, the second oldest of ten children. He graduated from the University of Saigon with a Bachelor of Arts. He taught math and Vietnamese literature at the same high school where he met his future wife, who was also a teacher. He served in the Vietnamese Army and achieved the rank of Lieutenant. After his service, he became Superintendent of Schools. He fled during the Fall of Saigon with his family, eventually arriving in the United States. He had a long career as a system analyst and software engineer at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company before retiring to Orlando.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Muoi Thi Tran, and their children: Linh Uong (Steve), Quang Uong (Emily), and My Uong. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Ryan, Mackenzie, and Lana, as well as many brothers, sisters, nephews, and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hinh Dinh Uong and Vinh Thi Nguyen.
A private service for family will be held on Wednesday, May 17th at the Newcomer Funeral Home - E. Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL.
