On the afternoon of April 19th, 2016, Thomas (Tom) Brown, 68 of Oviedo, Florida passed away at home after a valiant
and courageous battle against cancer,attended and comforted by his two loving daughters.
Tom was born on May 14,1947 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Holden(Hoagie) Brown and Kathleen Jackson Brown.
His early years were spent in Illinois but later the family moved to Winterpark, Florida. There Tom graduated from high school in 1965 and was drafted into the Army in 1967 doing a tour of duty in Vietnam. Two years later he was discharged and returned to Florida. There he met and married Theresa Jane Ball and two daughters were born to this Union, Elizabeth (Ellie) Brown and Nicole (Nikki) Brown Burks.
Tom obtained his BS degree and worked several years as Vice President of First Federal of Seminole. He later obtained his 2nd BS degree with a new career path--Radiological Science.
He has been currently employed by the University of Central Florida Health Center for the past 20 years. He loved his job and colleagues and students will miss him.
Tom was a proponent of higher education because of its limitless opportunities.He lead by example and encouraged young people to further their education and enrich their lives.
Iowa was a special place to Tom. His Uncle(Mom's brother) Aunt and 10 cousins were the backdrop of many fun memories. He even lived there for awhile. He returned many times, especially in the winter. He loved snow, the historic small town, and a quieter kind of life. He enjoyed genealogy ,golf and The Civil War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoagie and Kay Brown
He is survived by: Ellie Brown, Jason Giguere, and Lily Grace Giguere.
