Thomas William Moeller, age 80, of Longwood, Florida passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at AdventHealth Hospital in Altamonte Springs.
Thomas was born on June 6, 1942 in Oceanside, NY, son to the late Thomas Lewis and Alice Rita (Quigley) Moeller. From 1961 – 1965, he honorably served his country as a member of the United States Navy. During that time, he attended Electronic Electrician School at Great Lakes, IL, then transferred to Port Lyautey, Morocco where he became a Communications Watch Technician in circuit control. He worked at Grumman and North American Rockwell in the Space Aviation Program. Thomas was part of the ground support team for the Apollo Command Module at Kennedy Space Center, where he was an active member of the fueling and red crews for Apollo 8 and 11. He spent the rest of his working career as an electronics technician working for various companies including General Dynamics and Datamax Corporation.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and working on projects around his home.
Thomas is survived by his two daughters, Christine (Chrissy) Gagne and her husband, Thomas (Tom), of Deer Island, FL, and Kathryn (Kathy) Colandreo and her husband, Anthony (Chip), of Lake Mary; five grandchildren, Grace Colandreo, Rose Colandreo, Austin Worrell, Chase Worrell, and Christopher Camerer; a brother, James Moeller and his wife, Lucero, of Manorville, NY; and a sister, Susan Galligan and her husband, Ken, of The Villages.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
