On July 5, 1991 Thomitchka (Thomie) Alexis was born in Miami, Florida to parents who adore her Thomas Alexis and Augusta Alexis (Simphar). At a tender age her parents knew that there was something special about her as she had a smile that would light up a room.
A Seventh Day Adventist from birth, Thomie developed a personal relationship with God. She continued to study his words and made the decision to accept Christ as her Lord and Savior and the covenant was sealed when she was baptized at a young age. Thomie continued to excel not only in life but in her education as well. Her primary education consisted of kindergarten, elementary (Holy Cross Lutheran), and Miami Academy. She began her secondary education at Lake Mary High School and even after missing days of school due to illness; she surpassed with the help of God and graduated Suma Cum Laude. This was only the beginning for Thomie. She furthered her education by attending the University of Central Florida (UCF) where she graduated Suma Cum Laude with a B.S in Psychology along with an undergraduate certificate in Behavioral Forensics and Criminal Profiling on May 1, 2014. Upon graduation, she began working as a Direct Care Professional (D.C.P) at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Florida. Her lifelong dream was to obtain a Graduate Degree in Forensic Investigation, so she made preparations to begin in 2018.
There was no limit to her accomplishments. She also had a love and an appreciation for the arts. She played the piano and the clarinet. She didn't stop there; she enjoyed singing the lyrics of her favorite singer Yolanda Adams, whom she had the opportunity to meet. In addition to music, her favorite pastime was traveling to places such as California and Asian countries, of which her favorite was Hong Kong.
The bible teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves and Thomie was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was known for her infectious smile, which she displayed while in pain. After a brief illness, Thomie went to sleep in Jesus on January 13, 2018, waiting peacefully the soon coming of her Savior and resurrection morning.
She leaves behind her father Thomas, her mother Augusta, her sweet sister Audrey whom she admired; together these two hearts formed an unbreakable bond; her beloved sisters Thamarh and brother- in- law Al Woon and Yveline and brother- in-law Alix Alexandre, brother Jean-David, nieces Tiara Alexis, Natanya Alexis-Philoctete, Mikailah Woon, and Tiffany Swanson, nephews Jayden Alexis and Jeremiah, countless cousins, uncles, and aunts, and most of all her dear cat Colphin and closest friends.
