Tomas A. Penafiel

Mr. Tomas A. Penafiel, 60, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in Orlando, Florida.

Tomas, known as "Tom" to many of his friends and family, was born on April 12th, 1955 in Guayaquil, Ecuador to his parents Luisa M. Lecaro and Tomas Penafiel. He immigrated to the United States in 1968 with his mother, and became a proud American citizen in the 1990's. He attended John Jay High School in Brookyln, NY, and also Brooklyn College where he studied communications. He met his wife, Maria, in 1980, and they were together for 35 years at the time of his passing. Together, they raised 3 children: Hector, Jennifer, and Michael. He retired from Walt Disney World in 2013 after 23 years, a career at which he met many lifelong friends. He dedicated his life to his family, having a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.

Tomas is survived by his loving wife, Maria, and three children: Hector, Jennifer and Michael. He had four wonderful grandchildren which he adored Jadon, Lyla, Jaylani and Joel. He also had his siblings Carlos Yepez, Gorky Penafiel, Tomas Lenin Penafiel, Francia Penafiel, Tomas Napoleon Penafiel, Walter Penafiel, Patricia Penafiel, Carolina Penafiel.

Funeral arrangements will be held at Newcomer on Tuesday August 11, 2015. The wake will be held from 5pm- 8pm. The Burial will be held on Wednesday August 12, 2015, service begins at Newcomer at 10 am.
