Una Eva Budy, 83, of Orlando, FL, formerly of Norwalk, CT died peacefully in her sleep on August 25, 2018. Born March 20, 1935 in Georgetown, CT, she is predeceased by her parents Edward H and Una (Turner) Dunham, her step-mother Eva (Legrere) Dunham, her two sisters Hazel and Ethel (Tee), and her brother Chet.
Una was a homemaker until she moved to Orlando in 1969. At that time Una started her career with Orange County Public Schools where she worked in the cafeteria at Michael McCoy Elementary School for 29 years. During that time, Una became well known for her cooking, baking and cake decorating skills. Never taking a class, it just came natural to her; She was the official cake decorator for school events, personal birthdays, and weddings. Una also loved to crochet and enjoyed making special dish cloths and giving them to others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed terribly, but has left a legacy to her family of kindness and unconditional love.
Una was married to Edward J Budy Sr. on June 26, 1954 and recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Ed and Una raised two children, Edward Joseph Jr. and Peggy Ann. Possessing a true servant's heart, Una faithfully cared for family and friends through prayer, delicious cooking, baking from scratch, crafts, and sewing.
Una is survived by her loving husband Edward J. Budy Sr., her son Edward J. (Bonnie) Budy Jr., her daughter Peggy Ann (Thomas), her four grandchildren Christopher J. (Akiko) Budy, Tiffany A. (Budy) (Luke) Vasquez, Casey (Sterling) (Alexander) Sophinos, Stacey A. Sterling, and four great-grandchildren Gabrielle Vasquez, Shoyji Budy, Isabelle Vasquez, and Takashi Budy as well as numerous nieces, neighbors, and friends. She also leaves her choosen family and special neighbors, Gail and William Mealey, who there are not enough words to express our heartfelt love, appreciation and gratitude.
