With deep sadness we are announcing the passing of Vasile Botea on November 15th., three months prior to his 92nd birthday.
Vasile was born on 2/10/1930 in a small village in Romania in a family of hard-working farmers from whom he inherited a love for the land and its bounties. He loved nature and hiking the trails of the Carpathians and later the beautiful parks of the US. His life was divided between his youth spent in his native Romania where he worked as a ship mechanic and his mature years lived in his adoptive US that gave him a second chance at reshaping his life. With all the difficulties of this drastic change, he easily gained the trust of his new colleagues, neighbors, and friends, both in New York where he lived for 15 years and in Orlando where he eventually made his home. He was always thankful to his heavenly Father and to Jesus his savior for walking along him throughout his life's many trials and joys.
He is survived by his wife, Aurelia; daughter, Yolanda Petre and husband, Gabriel; grand-children, Bogdan and Natalia; siblings, Marioara Simion, and Lidia Aostacioae; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, November 21st from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The service will follow at 1:00 PM at Newcomers Funeral Home at 895 S. Goldenrod Rd. in Orlando. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories and stories during the service.
