Velma L. Short, 93 of Orlando passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009. She was born in Charleston, W.V. and moved to Central Florida in 1964. She was a member of the United Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn A. Short of Orlando; son Buddy Short and his wife Dian of Bartlett, TN; brother, Ed Milam and his wife Lee of Altamonte Springs, FL and grandsons, Steven and Scott.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at United Church of the Nazarene, 1320 S. Chickasaw Trail, Orlando 32825. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church Building Fund at the above address.
