Velma Lee Clay-Kurak - 81, died September 10th in Orlando, Florida. Velma was born in Waterloo, Iowa and has resided in Orlando since 1977. She is survived by her three sons, Thomas Kurak (Patti) of Ramsey, Minnesota, Joseph Kurak of Orlando, Florida and Charles Kurak (Marta) of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is also survived by a brother Lester Clay of Orlando, 3 sisters, Norma Kerley of Scottsdale, AZ, Ila Hyde of Waverly, IA and Daisey Neilson of Waterloo, IA, along with 4 granddaughters, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held on September 14th at Newcomer Funeral Home in Orlando, which was attended by many family and friends. Ms. Clay was well loved by all who knew her and was renowned for her green thumb and gardening skills. She was a woman of great strength, spirituality and character, and will be greatly missed by all.
