Vera Goodman Teston

Vera Goodman Teston was born on June 13, 1938 and passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the age of 80 years young.

Vera - Beloved Wife (for Eternity), Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and above all, Friend to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luke and Madie Goodman; several brothers and sisters; and two of her own children, Pam and Ricky.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Wallace Teston; her children, Patricia, Rocky, Wanda, and Vickie; her sons-in-law, Danny and Lloyd; several great-grandchildren; her sister, Clara; her brother, James; and many others, both family and friends.

She loved gatherings, always had parties and family get-togethers so she could visit with everyone, cook for them, and watch the kids grow up. She would cook all this wonderful food because she knew we would all come running. She put so much love in her cooking, especially her giblet gravy and chocolate cake; many have tried to replicate it, but no one could ever put that much love into something and make it that good.

She loved to dance. Country music was in her soul. Well, music was in her soul, and it made her feel good. She was a singer when she was young, and even made it on the radio. She had a beautiful voice, but gave it all up to raise a family.

She was a true friend - you could talk to her about anything, and we usually did at least a few times a day. She would try to coax me through cooking a meal without burning it, and we would just laugh and laugh when I ended up burning it anyway. She would give me tips on how to raise a family without killing myself or one of them, and came close to that a couple times, but Momma made it all better. She would never judge, only console.

She had hard times too, many health problems over the years that would get her down, but never anything that could put a hold on her becuase she was such a strong person, to the very end.

I admire my Mother, my Friend, my Heart, and I am going to miss her so very much. Getting out of the habit of just calling her everyday will be the worst. There aren't any phone connections to Heaven.

Lord, although I feel like you took the very soul from my body by taking Momma, I know you let her stay with us as long as humanly possible. We will miss her forever.
