Vernon Dale Stocker, 9/30/1937 - 7/5/2018.
Dale was born in Madison County, Kentucky to Carl Newton and Elizabeth Burton Stocker. He is survived by his wife (Lula Easter Goodwin Stocker) of 60 years, two sisters, Phyllis (Sam) Salter, Jane Young. Preceding him in death was his parents, one sister (Linda Stocker Humes), two brothers in law (Nelson Young, Bobby Gene Humes), a nephew (Nelson Young Jr.) and a niece (Kristin Brown). He is survived by his four children, Marsha (Tony) Pilgrim, Michael (Leslie) Stocker, Carla (Burke) Stocker, Lisa (Dallas) Ingram, 8 grandchildren, Dana (Landon) Irving, Melisa (Eric) Strong, Mathew Pilgrim, Bradley (Aliana) Stocker, Carl Helman, Rianna (Brian) Rudd, Joshua (Emily) Ingram, Jacob (Samantha) Ingram. He has 8 great-grandchildren: Derek, Relic, Michael, Aiden, John, Wyatt, Oakley, and Ryan.
Dale joined the Navy at 17 years old in 1954 which he served 4 years and upon discharge, he joined the Air Force in 1958 which he retired from in 1974.
He worked for Disney World for 10 years as an engineer in the laundry from which he retired.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Autism Speaks or South Conway Road Baptist Church in Dale's name.
Services will be from 2-4 pm Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home on Goldenrod Road, lead by Jack Hardy and Rodney Heckle.
Private internment will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
