Vickie Ann Shorten

Vickie Ann Shorten of Orlando, Florida went home to be with the angels on Thursday, October 20, 2011. Vickie entered the world on August 16, 1954 in Pensacola, Florida to parents, James and Betty Pike, currently of Seattle, WA. Vickie is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Frederick Shorten, her son, Ricky Shorten (Tricia); daughter, Kathleen Schmitzer (Chad) and daughter, Nicole Miller (Brandon); granddaughter, Kailyn Shorten and grandson, Chase Shorten; partnes, James and Betty Pike; sisters, Carolyn Moorten and Jamie Gartin; father and mother-in-law, Frederick Sr. and Barbara Shorten; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Dr. George Tershakovec as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Vickie's greatest passion was her family and close friends. Vickei's zest for life was evident to all who had the blessing to know her. "Family time" was every minute of every day. She relished her role of wife, mother, daughter, sister and for the last 8 years, her greatest role of Nana.
