Viola Catherine Scheblein

Viola Catherine Scheblein passed away at 98 years, 4 months, and 1 day old, in the early morning of December 14th, 2024. Her two loving children, Karl and Andrea, surrounded her as they enjoyed some of VI’s favorite treats.

 A true original, Viola was a serial winker, a comedian, a singer, and an avid partygoer. Even at 98, she was up at dawn, ready for the evening's festivities. Whether she was spending time with the Power Squadron, welcoming customers at her daughter’s shop, making Strawberry Soup with her granddaughter, curating enormous Easter baskets for the grandkids, or being her son's Sunday night date, she had a unique ability to make everyone feel special.

 Viola’s infectious smile and playful spirit brightened every room she entered. Although she embraced every holiday as an opportunity to celebrate, Christmas held a special place in her heart. It was during the Christmas season that she married her childhood babysitter and beloved husband, Andy, in 1946, and then in December of 1949 they bought their first house.

 She is survived by her loving family and the countless friends she made throughout her remarkable life.
