Warren Lee Kaul

October 30, 1946 — April 26, 2023

Warren Lee Kaul, age 76, of Altamonte Springs Florida, transitioned to his new home in heaven on April 26, 2023. The name Warren means "Protecting Friend' and he certainly lived up to that name.
Son of David Clinton Kaul and Charlotte Jeanette Bailey Kaul, he was born in Charleston West Virginia. Warren graduated Charleston High School and Morris Harvey College in Charleston, West Virginia. He was in Scouting and achieved the Order of the Arrow in the Buckskin Council. He was also a camp counselor throughout his high school and college years. He loved to tell the younger scouts ghost stories around the campfire at night. When he would get to an impactful moment, he would slip his hand into his pocket and throw powered jello into the fire. That caused a sparkle effect that would go up in the air and the boys were in awe. They thought he was magic.

Warren moved to Charleston, South Carolina in the 1970s, where he was a special Education teacher. He was an accomplished speaker and a recipient of the Able Toastmaster Award from Toastmasters International. He received a Master's Degree in Education from the Citadel in 1981.
He was the owner and president of a tutoring service, The Homework Place in Summerville, South Carolina, helping elementary and high school students to overcome challenges in learning.

He moved to Altamonte Springs, Florida in 1991, where he taught a TV production class at Lyman High School in Longwood. Florida.

He was the designer of a communication curriculum and Training Service for faith based organizations, called Leadership Communication.

Warren's love for his country was known by everyone who knew him. He was a member of two political groups and one of his interests was keeping up with the news at home and abroad. He also loved his Lord and his church, Word of Faith Family Church in Altamonte Springs. One time he ordered a pin to go on his shirt, it had a computerized message that scrolled across the face that said "Hello, I am Warren and Jesus is Lord". He wore that pin to church every Sunday, where he often sat in the entry way to direct new people to the facilities. His other interests were riding his bike in Wekiva State Park and swimming every morning, weather permitting.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen Wood Newman Kaul and four step children. Debbie Hardy (Levert), Duane Newman (Karen), Michael Newman (Kathy), and Dale Newman (Pansy). Six grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren and Two great- great grandchildren. He was also substitute grandfather to Three young boys as well.

Two Sisters, Lorraine Kaul (Bill) of Rhode Island, and Marian Kaul of Germany. A niece, Shannon Spurlock (Brian), a great niece and nephew, Dakotah and Sienna O'Dwyer of Rhode Island.

He is also survived by three stepchildren by a former marriage. Denese Allen Wiesbrock (Nick), Mary Allen Wood (Stephen), and Paul Allen.

Donations may be made to the church building fund in Lieu of flowers.
