Wesley R. Porch, aka “Wes” or “Papa” a devoted father, grandfather,
brother, and friend gained his wings on July 12, 2024. His legacy of
kindness, courage, and dedication will forever inspire us.
Wesley Raymond Porch was born on October 18, 1948, in Rocky
Mount, NC to the late Wesley, aka “Bob” Porch, and Ada O., aka
“Nan” Porch.
He received his early education in Rocky Mount, NC, and received
a Bachelor of Science Degree at North Carolina A&T State
University in Greensboro, NC. He was a loyal member of the
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, an organization that upholds the values
of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and support. His
commitment to brotherhood will be remembered by all who knew
him. Wesley was also a dedicated military veteran, who proudly
served in the United States Army Reserves and a Retiree of
McKesson Corporation.
Wesley was a devoted father of two sons; his love extended to his
four grandchildren. But his greatest joy came from spending time
with family, whether it was sharing stories with his infectious sense
of humor, teaching life lessons, or simply just being there.
He had an insatiable passion for cooking. His kitchen was a canvas
where he fearlessly experimented with new recipes, creating
unforgettable meals and desserts for the family. He also liked trying
his luck at the casino playing slot machines, taking road trips,
talking about current events, and watching “Monk”, his favorite
T.V. show. And then there were the classic games of A&T
State University, which he went to every year. His passion for his
alma mater ran deep.
Wesley found solace in the intricacies of tax preparation. His
meticulous attention to detail and dedication to tax preparation
extended beyond numbers. He was committed to helping people
with their taxes and other financial matters. In the digital realm,
Wesley stayed connected to his Facebook family. His timeline was
a mosaic of memories, shared photos, and heartfelt messages.

encouragement. His virtual presence radiated warmth and
camaraderie.
Wesley was preceded in death by his father Wesley Porch, his
mother Ada O. Porch, and his wife Carol A. Porch.
Wesley leaves to cherish his memory two Sons, Terry Porch
(Cassandra Richardson) and Christopher Porch (Meghann D. Rodriguez); four
grandchildren, Khauri Porch, Adreanna Porch, Kobe Porch, and
Dre Porch; brother Andre Porch. In addition to, his immediate
family he is survived by cousins Juanita Faye Knight and Eddie
Tillery and a host of family and friends.
As we bid farewell to Wesley Raymond Porch, we remember him
not only for his passions but also for the love he shared with those
around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of everyone who had
the privilege of knowing him.
