William Arana Rodriquez at the age of 94 passed away at the comfort of his home in Orlando Florida, surrounded by his family on the 25th day of December, 2018.
He was born in El Barrio Obrero, Santurce, Puerto Rico, December 29, 1923 to Luis Arana Casana and Palmira Rodriguez Garcia.
William was a man of many gifts and talents. His early career was that of a mason in Puerto Rico then eventually trained as a Dental Technician, owning his own labs in New York City and in Rio Grande Puerto Rico.

William would give the shirt of his back when he saw or knew someone in need of help. He saw a need for youth programs and developed a boxing club in his community of Malpica, Rio Grande. This encouraged a promising boxer by the nickname of Violeta to develop his skills and the opportunity to represent Puerto Rico in a Russian boxing competition.
William was an accomplished athlete, participating in the Pan American Track and Field Master Championships, the Puerto Rican Masters, the Florida State Master Championships and other various organizations. He earned a total of 30 plus Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in pole vaulting, javelin throw, discus throw, weight lifting, high jump and long jump.
