William Gordon Berkey, born in New York City on March 21, 1946, died on April 6, 2023. He was the son of L. Gordon Berkey and Eleanor T. Berkey, both of White Plains. He was a resident of Peekskill and Fishkill, where he graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School. Upon graduation, he attended Duke University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1968. He served in Army Intelligence during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1974.
He lived in Winter Park, Florida, where he was employed as a commercial real estate appraiser. He was a member of the Appraisal Institute, and was active in the affairs of the Central Florida Duke Alumni Club.
Mr. Berkey will be interred with his family at Hillside Cemetery in Peekskill, N.Y.
