William John Cross, age 57, of Winter Springs, Florida passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.
William was born on June 21, 1964 in Brooklyn, NY; son of the late William Joseph and Kathleen (Murray) Cross. On September 24, 1994, he married the former Barbara Perez.
William was a beloved husband and father. He was the fifth of six children.
William earned his Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology at New York City Technical College.
He moved to Florida in 1996 with his sweetheart, where he became the proud father of his two amazing children.
William was a follower of Jesus Christ and read the daily word frequently. He was a kind and gentle man who always put others first.
He was artistic and wise, and saw beauty in even the most unexpected places. His eye for detail was clear in his intricate paintings and as he played the guitar. He liked to joke and laugh with his one of a kind sense of humor.
William got involved in Cub Scouts to be closer to his son. He loved being outdoors. He spent time hammocking, kayaking, camping, and going on walks, often picking up a leaf that he found beautiful so that he could press it in a book to preserve and admire later.
William is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Barbara Cross; his daughter, Caitlin Cross of Winter Springs; his son, William Ryan Cross of Winter Springs; four sisters, Tara Cross and her husband, Bruno Keusch, of Brooklyn, NY, Nancy Masino and her husband, Tom, of Wantagh, NY, Cecilia Cross of Queens, NY, and Maryann Ciacci and her husband, Joe, of Queens, NY; and a brother, Richard Cross and his wife, Cheryl, of Brooklyn, NY.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 13 from 4pm to 8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Seminole Chapel, 335 E State Rd 434, Longwood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 10am at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Rd, Altamonte Springs.
