William Edwin (Bill) Driscoll, age 88, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 surrounded by his family as he went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Bill was born on September 18, 1929 in Salisbury, MD; the only child of the late William and Margaret (Green) Driscoll. He worked for Ryder Trucking as a long distance driver for many years prior to his retirement. Previous to his work with Ryder, Bill was a barber. Bill proudly and honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army immediately after WWII and during the Korean conflict. Bill dearly loved his family and considered them his pride and joy. He loved Southern Gospel music and sharing his faith in the Lord. Bill's passion was his woodworking – he could make an ordinary piece of wood into something beautiful.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Blanche (Todd) Driscoll; his two daughters, Peggy Fox and Susan Evans (Mike); four grandchildren, Cheryl Fox-Toste (Jason), Heather Fox, Kyle Evans (Emily), and Kelsey Evans (Osita-fiancee'); and three great-grandchildren, Amalea Toste, Jason Toste, Jr., and Addison Evans.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 10:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Orlando, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, Florida 32822 with Pastor Steve Parker of Aloma Church officiating.
Visitation is Monday, April 30 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer. Contributions in lieu of flowers should be made to the Wounded Warrior Project – www.wounderwarriorproject.org.
Interment with full military honors will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
