William Don Haas was born September 25, 1953 in Orlando, Florida to Ernest and Thelma Haas at Orange Memorial Hospital. He is a true native Floridian. He attended Azalea Park Elementary School, Jackson Middle School and graduated
high school from Colonial High School.

Bill's love for baseball began at an early age. When he was 8 years old he began playing little league baseball for the Azalea Park Little League. Bill also played high school baseball at Colonial High School and received many awards for his
speed in stealing bases and his skills playing second base and shortstop. Bill was also a recipient of All County awards for running track as well.

Once Bill aged out of Little League Baseball, he continued playing baseball with Big League Azalea Park. He played in and won the Big League World Series in 1972 and received many awards for his accomplishments. He shared his baseball passion with his children, Danny and Kimberly who both played little league baseball/softball and High School as well. You could always find Bill at the ballpark – both as a parent and a coach. He coached both of his children's teams for many years. Bill also received many awards for his dedication to Azalea Park Little League and Union Park Little League. You would find him at the fields every Saturday - coaching, umpiring or working to keep the fields mowed and cleaned.

Bill also worked 30 years with TECO Energy as a Natural Gas Maintenance Supervisor. Bill also received many awards there for his dedication and work ethics during this time. Bill enjoyed being outdoors. He loved to fish and was also an avid surfer. Many days you would find him at Cocoa Beach on his Surfboard.

You would also find Bill and his family in church every Sunday. Bill was always serving Jesus. He enjoyed ushering and performing in the Easter Carol at Parkway Baptist Church as a soldier. He loved that role and filled it for several years.

Bill and his wife, Karen were high school sweethearts. They recently celebrated 49 years of marriage. Bill is survived by his wife Karen, and their two children; son Danny (Casey) Haas, daughter Kimberly Haas, and four grandchildren; Olive, Darcy, Jayne, and George. He is also survived by his brother Steve Haas and sister Diana Minks.
