He was born in Frozen Creek, Kentucky. He was a retired Major in the United States Marine Corps. and was a Vietnam veteran.
William is survived by his Wife, Carolyn A. Day, daughter, Whitney D. Brandt and her husband, Wally, sons, William O. Day II and his wife Leda and Michael J. Day and his wife Trina; granddaughters, Lindsey L. Day, Mackenzie L. Ferguson, Chelsea A. Ferguson and Gracen M. Day; grandsons, William Carson Day, Alexander L. Ferguson and Colby M. Day.
