William James O'Brien, Sr. "OB"

William James O’Brien Sr., better known as “OB”, entered in to heaven on December 6, 2024. OB was a treasured and beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. OB was born in Philadelphia, PA on 11.29.1950. He was a proud American Veteran and served honorably in the United States Army from 1968-1989. 

OB is Preceded in death by his lovely wife, Monika Laura O’Brien and his parents William and Wanda O’Brien. He leaves behind his son William James O’Brien Jr., and daughter and son in-law Jennifer Stein & Jake Stein, two sisters Barbra O’Brien and Kathy Orth as well as a host of family and friends. He was especially loved by and proud of his grandsons in order of birth - Jesse O’Brien, Dylan O’Brien, Brennan O’Brien, Aidan O’Brien, Carter Stein and Camden Stein. 

 OB was known for his humor and laugh, his love of the Philadelphia Eagles, Philly salted pretzels with mustard, Philly Cheesesteaks, “Diamond Irv’s” pizza and especially the spirit of family. He held a special place in his heart for his one and only love and wife Monika and his two children. The pride and passion he held for this country and his time served in the United States Army was unsurpassed. He loved caring in many ways for those who were in need and was a generous and giving soul to those who never asked. 

 He is heavily loved and will be fiercely missed by all those that were lucky enough to know him. May he rest in peace, reunited with his wife and forever cherished by his family.
