Wilma H. Tarrats

Tarrats, Wilma Helen (Peters) aka "Yellin Helen & Big Wilma" age 85 formerly of 181 Weeden Drive, East Greenwich, RI died peacefully at her daughters' home in Orlando, FL surrounded by loving family on July 26, 2014. She was caring wife to Joseph Tarrats. Born in a private home in Bridgeport, CT, she was daughter to the late John & Helen (Soter) Peters, and lived in Potowomut, RI for over 48 years. She was sibling to the late Angelina Athanas, Margaret Petrucci, Jimmy, Billy & Charlie Peters. Helen was most loving, passionate and proud of her children. She had over a 48 year career as Nanny for numerous children that she loved as her own. Helen's favorite pastime was gambling, namely Poker and Bingo, that inspired her "nicknames" coined by fellow gamblers. It was said that the bingo hall would thunder when she yelled "B-I-N-G-0"! Her favorite places were Las Vegas and Foxwoods Resorts/Casinos. She is survived by: 6 children: Joseph Tarrats of Coventry, RI; David Tarrats of Ventura, CA; Diane Sailer of Fall River, MA; John Tarrats of Providence, RI; Teresa Tarrats of Orlando, FL; and Michael Tarrats of Winter Park, FL. 8 grandchildren: Jackie Kasun of Warwick, RI; Keith, Kara, & Kyle Tarrats of Ventura, CA; Dan & Clint Huling of Somerset, MA & Alicia & Jeremy Tarrats of Orlando, FL. In addition, she was blessed with 2 great grandchildren: Alexandra & Emily Huling of Somerset, MA. A Memorial Service is being held on Wednesday, August 13th from 5-6 pm at Christ Church 1025 Main Street, East Greenwich, RI 02818 followed by a repass with family and friends from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made for nourishing children through MannaRelief.
