Yvonne Phillips Dawkins

Yvonne Phillips Dawkins passed away on October 29, 2018 at the age of 89. Born in New York City, Yvonne attended Catholic elementary and high schools. She earned a full scholarship to The College of New Rochelle, where she majored in art. Yvonne worked in the fashion industry in New York City as a designer's model before marrying Donald Dawkins on Jan. 24, 1953. They enjoyed a long and devoted marriage that produced five children. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, where she volunteered in several ministries. She is predeceased by her husband, Donald Dawkins. She is survived by her sisters, Suzanne Bauer of Lexington, KY, and Michelle Jacques of Strasburg, PA. She delighted in her five children, fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren: the late Paul Dawkins (Carolyn) of Palm Bay; Robert Dawkins (Laura) of Ponte Vedra Beach; Maria Dawkins Garriott (Craig) of Baltimore; Christopher Dawkins (Laura) of Orlando; and Pamela Dawkins Grabe (Bill) of Orlando; grandchildren Sarah Dawkins, the late Evan Dawkins, Deanna Dawkins Platten (Jason), Rebecca Garriott Dortzbach, Melissa Garriott Coble (Leif), Caroline Garriott Abreu Mendoza (Carlos), Calvin Garriott (Amber), Juliana Garriott, Brody Dawkins (Samantha), the late Brooke Dawkins, Brynne Dawkins, Kristen Grabe Gomez (Gil), Victoria Grabe, and Andrew Grabe; and seven great grandchildren: Saja Norment, Dane Casimir, Ada Dortzbach, Damien Dortzbach, Caius Coble, Freyja Coble, and Grant Gomez.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Nov. 9 at 4 PM in the chapel at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park.
